La Caja en el Cercado

Santiago, Nuevo León, Mexico

La Caja en el Cercado (the box in the woods), stands alone hidden on one side of the Sierra Madre oriental, a mountain chain where the municipality of Santiago is located. El Cercado is a small region of this municipality and hidden at the foot of the mountain, vast pines and other tall trees reveal incredible landscapes.

The main idea of the project was to recycle steel structures used for stage platforms (like those of concert stages) and provide a durable structure that can be weld and screw in a fast way and be replicate if needed.

The project consist of four platforms that divide the common spaces within the box and other four upside down platforms that led to hang up the bedroom area and the dome shapes for lighting the entire cabin.
